Cathleen D. Allen is a partner in Jaspan Schlesinger LLP’s Banking and Financial Services Practice Group and Real Estate Practice Group. Ms. Allen represents financial institutions and lenders in all types of commercial lending transactions and regulatory matters. She also has extensive experience representing business entities and individuals in all aspects of real estate law, including sales, acquisitions and leases and has experience in transactions involving Industrial Development Agencies, the United States Small Business Administration, interest rate swaps and 1031 exchanges.
Ms. Allen has been featured in Long Island Business News’ “Who’s Who in Commercial and Residential Real Estate Law.” In 2015, she was named a “Top Legal Eagle” by Long Island Pulse Magazine in the field of Real Estate Finance. Ms. Allen is the Secretary of the Women Economic Developers of Long Island.
Prior to joining the Firm, Ms. Allen was a partner in a prominent Suffolk County law firm where she concentrated on banking, real estate and corporate transactions. She also formerly served as assistant in-house counsel for a major commercial financial institution.
Ms. Allen received her undergraduate degree from Duke University and her law degree from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law, where she was a member of the Law Quarterly. She also attended Fordham University School of Law as a visiting student. She is admitted to practice in the State of New York, and the District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. Ms. Allen is a member of the New York State Bar Association and Suffolk County Bar Association.
